Handloom weaving is an elaborate process. The raw cotton yarn undergoes various processes like dyeing, winding, warping, sizing, starching, denting and joining before the actual weaving process commences.
Sankalp works hand in hand with the gifted and highly skilled weavers of Kerala to bring out a range of handwoven sarees and double mundu or dhothis that stand apart in quality and design.

For those who have experienced it before, the echoing rhythm of the handloom carries you back to gentle memories of weaving villages from the times gone by. Almost every village then was a cottage industry in its own merit, with skilful independent weavers entwining combinations of threads and dyes to craft magic. Each piece of fabric created thus, was raw, unique and an epitome of intricate & dedicated craftsmanship
Kerala was no different. In fact, they are the creators of one of the most exquisite and universally popular forms of handlooms, the kasavu mundus and sarees. The undyed, off-white cotton cloth, often laced with coloured or golden borders is a favourite among the young and the old alike, even to this day. Yet, it is a pity that today...
The Journey that began in 2010
Sankalp Creative Ventures Pvt. Ltd. which was founded in 2009, is an organization working towards the empowerment of women by encouraging entrepreneurship. It helps enrich their lives by helping them discover opportunities for sustainable growth. Sankalp works not just with women entrepreneurs, but also supports traditional artisans, weavers, and other craftspeople helping them promote their crafts and enabling them to lead a dignified and economically empowered life.
